Would a women accept an engagement ring made of wood?
Ladies,
You are interested in getting married to a man who is a master woodworker. If he presented you with an engagement ring made of the finest most beautiful woods on the planet and it took him a very, very long time to make. For the time and parts it took to make the ring ended up costing more then just buying a ‘traditional’ ring and it is more beautiful, original, unique then anything on the planet and it was made just for you.
Would you accept it as an engagement ring?
Yes! I think that engagement rings should be more about the sentimental value than about the “bling”! this is, obviously, bursting with sentimental value. How many women can point to their engagement ring and say, “This ring, a symbol of love from my husband, was a labor of love for my husband. He made it and crafted it with ME in his heart and mind”? I know I can’t!
You should, however, expect a moment of shock, because most of us American women (I’m assuming, of course, that your special one is American) expect a solitaire diamond ring, and she may be surprised at first.
You could, however, lead her (mentally) up to the moment by telling her that you have a very special gift for her. You have been working on it for (weeks or months). You carefully selected beautiful woods with meanings that fit her and your relationship with her. You carefully crafted it for her so that it reflects her grace and beauty. You have bestowed your love upon it every minute you worked those pieces of wood, just like you will work on your relationship with her every moment, in good times and bad. Just then, you slip out of your chair, onto your knee, open the wooden box you’ve made (which, of course, complements her ring), and ask her to marry you.
Oooh, gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. 
I think it is quite evident from your question that you love this girl very much because you have taken so much care and time in crafting her right. If she loves you even half as much as you love her, I’m sure she will love and appreciate it.
