Toy box lid supports?

I would like to buy a toy box lid support, that allows the lid to close slowly without slamming down on a childs fingers. I bought one (item #26229) from Rockler Woodworking And Hardware, but it came with a “Warning-This product contains one or more chemicals, including lead, that are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash Hands after handling.” I cannot in all good conscious use this support on a toy box I am building for by grandson. He will not be washing his hands at anytime after using the toy box, and who knows when he would handle the supports. Does anyone know where I can find a lid support for a toy box that closes slowly, doesn’t need any manual adjusting of it, and doesn’t contain lead or anything?
