What is the easiest material to put a wood screw into?
A long shot question.
For instance OSB you have to start the screw by either pushing a screw in until the wood screw will pull itself into the wood or you have to make a starter hole. I’m looking for a material or materials that can be put together that a screw will go into easier than this.
What I’m looking for is something hard that a wood screw will immediately snag and pull itself into easier than normal wood. For instance could there a material out there that has hundreds of indents per inch that a wood screw would catch on?
This has lots of woodworking and even a few drywall applications if I could find something suitable.
Drywall is by far the easiest material to place a wood screw into. In most cases, the wood screw has to pass through the drywall to get to the wood studs. Use drywall.
